Redwood City: San Jose man sentenced to 30 days in jail for leading police on chase

REDWOOD CITY — A San Jose man will serve a four weeks in jail for leading police on a car> pursuit that began on Hwy 101 and ended at the Maple Street Correctional Facility, according to prosecutors.

Long Hai Vuong, 31, pleaded no contest Thu to misdemeanor reckless driving and misdemeanor drunk driving in exchange for a 32-day sentence, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

Vuong was initially charged with felony reckless evading, driving under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest.

Vuong, who already has 2 days credit for time served, is scheduled to report to jail on Sept. 17.
