The idea of video-equipped drones flying over properties and backyards has some local residents nervous about their privacy. Atherton’s City Council will explore how it can regulate drones when it meets in a study session on Wed Jul six starting at three in the afternoon in the town’s council chambers at 94 Ashfield Road.

A report from Atherton City Attorney Bill Conners says the Federal Aviation Administration has the primary authority to regulate small not manned aircraft systems, or drones, but does allow local governments to develop regulations that address privacy concerns.
